View videosIn this segment, Gary Vaynerchuk, author of The Thank You Economy, explains why Microsoft's purchase of Skype is proof that the way we communicate has fundamentally changed forever.
About The Thank You Economy: “This book could easily have been called The Humanization of Business or Manners Marketing… In The Thank You Economy, I tackle the issue of the ROI of social media and provide case studies. I think we wrote a much, much stronger book than I did with Crush It. When I say we, I mean the people in the social graph--the people that are living it." –Gary Vaynerchuk
Totally agree with Gary. The braintrust at Microsoft are really just confirming what we all should already now. How we communicate with each other is and will be fundamentally changing. Just like I'm sure there were skeptics of the telephone and email, there will be naysayers on Skype and video conferencing. If you *** the technology savvy guy in your office puffing his chest and bragging about how much he knows, just forget that for a moment and just realize the main point here is that our culture is changing rapidly.
I hope that we'll see Skype on Facebook some day. Since Microsoft owns a good part of Facebook, this is now more likely than ever before. Btw, Bing + Facebook Social Search was a brilliant and necessary move for Microsoft.

Gary this a very good quick snapshot you made on how communication is moving. You see it every day in multiple situations and environments; if business owners, marketers, and in general business people do not adapt to the changes in the market we will not succeed.
