The Bonnie Marcus Collection “where fashion meets paper” was founded in 2002 by Bonnie Marcus, a Special Event Planner at the prestigious 92nd Street Y in New York. Bonnie had worked with many individual clients and brides on invitations for their special events and always found that something was lacking in the invitation market. While her clients were usually fashion-forward, most of what was available at retail at the time was very traditional, and she commonly custom-designed invitations for her clients. Bonnie’s strong background in fashion, having worked with Diane Von Furstenberg and Liz Claiborne, helped her to instill her passion for fashion in each custom order.
In 2002, while pregnant with her first child, instead of putting her feet up and relaxing, Bonnie ambitiously launched her stylish stationery company, the Bonnie Marcus Collection “where fashion meets paper” from her kitchen table in Westport, Connecticut.
The company was an instant success, with features in “O” The Oprah Magazine, New York Magazine as a “Best Bet” and Daily Candy shortly after the launch.
Today, 3 children, 1000 retailers, and over 500 designs later, the fresh designs from the Bonnie Marcus Collection can be found world-wide in upscale retailers including Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harrods of London. www.bonniemarcus.com
