If I Could Only Choose One Piece of Fitness Equipment, This Would Be It
The University of Oklahoma Biomechanical Lab Team, led by Dr. Jeffrey Stout, has recently completed a study on the use of the VMX Rope Trainer.
Their study has shown that the VMX Rope Trainer allows one to burn up to 30% more calories per minute versus other more traditional cardio equipment.
“The machines allow exercise to be performed at a higher intensity and require the use of a greater amount of muscle mass, resulting in higher caloric expenditure.”
According to Dr. Stout, "A two-minute seated vertical pulldown workout using the VMX burns a similar amount of calories per minute as an eight-minute treadmill or cycling session. A standing horizontal underhand workout, requiring the use of a greater amount of muscle mass, results in an even higher caloric expenditure during two minutes of intense exercise.
This makes the VMX an excellent tool for fitness enthusiasts and athletes to engage in high-intensity interval training (HIIT)." says Dr. Stout.
They’re not just designed for burning calories as an upper-body treadmill; the machines easily convert to strength-training, free-range-of-motion muscle builders with a number of exercises limited only by imagination. Resistance ranges from 5 to 250 pounds, accommodating users of all fitness levels and physical abilities.
These features and more makes the VMX and other models of Marpo Rope Trainers the Swiss army knife of functional training.
