Solid Cactus stands out from other developers for many reasons, but the distinction for which we’re most proud is that we were successful e-commerce store owners first.
In 1994, co-founders Scott Sanfilippo and Joe Palko launched one of the earliest online stores, TheFerretStore.com. The business quickly gained traction and moved out of closet and into a warehouse, ultimately expanding into a multi-brand company with over two dozen online stores. That experience paved the way for Joe and Scott to branch off into web design firm, Solid Cactus, in 2001. Solid Cactus expanded into a total e-commerce solutions provider, adding call center services, order management, shipping solutions, and Internet marketing to our suite of services. In 2009 Solid Cactus was acquired by Web.com (Nasdaq:WWWW), a leading provider of online marketing for small businesses.
Solid Cactus also publishes a bi-monthly print magazine, The eBiz Insider, operates an e-commerce forum, and hosts semi-annual e-commerce Boot Camps, three-day events where business owners interact with others in e-commerce and learn from the experts at Solid Cactus and its partners. Solid Cactus attends and presents at industry events, like Internet Retailer and contributes articles to other industry publications, like Practical E-commerce and Search Engine Land.
