ZED takes a calculated approach in its design process that incorporates energy modeling and cost/benefit analysis of energy efficient home improvements. Each design decision's impact on energy use can then be quantified and considered. To be clear, its not to dictate what can and cannot be done, rather to inform the evolution of a design to ensure it doesn't blow an energy budget.
