There are all sorts of different types of cartoons.

Some cartoons are basically an illustrated joke. You could take away the art and tell it to someone and it would still be funny.

Some cartoons are just funny visually. A look on a person’s face, some slapstick, or something just plain odd looking can be funny without any words.

But this cartoon is my favorite kind. Take away the art, and the caption isn’t funny at all. Take away the caption, and the art just sits there. Together, however, the cartoon pops (especially when you’ve got someone like Madoff in the news!).
