Today, American Express OPEN released The American Express OPEN State of Women-Owned Businesses Report, a comprehensive look at the growth of women-owned businesses in the United States as well as challenges that they still face.

 

Here's a snapshot from the report of the growth trajectory of women-owned businesses nationwide since 1997.

    Of course, as a woman who has been in business for 26 years, I welcome this enormous rise in women-owned businesess. But we will not have "arrived" until gender is no longer an issue and we are all business people in our own right, whether women or men. When that day comes, we will no lnger need charts to prove a point.Noemi Pollack
