Do you consider your community in your business?

More and more business owners are thinking about their impact on the community and making changes – whether it’s being more eco-friendly, giving support to local groups, etc. Do you do anything along these lines? Or know of another business that does?

At the core of EPiC Measures (EM) is the desire to empower individuals and organizations excel. We are 100% committed to clients who through their good/service also empower others to excel. The impact made on society through commerce must resonate positively with the people whose lives we touch and so on, hence the company name. For EM, the community is why we do business.

Absolutely, we live in our community, and we want it to be a better place to live for our employee's and neighbors.

Thanks! Are there any programs you've created or measures you've put into place that would provide good examples to other business owners?

Consulting is comprehensive and entails looking at how a product or initiative may affect primary, secondary and alternative target audiences. Prior to development, we conduct a “pebble test,” which answers the question, what are the long-term effects of this product/initiative? If we dropped [item] in a body of water, for example, would people, places or things be negatively affected? If so, how do we refine [item] such that we eliminate the negative and accentuate the positive? The pebble test forces all involved to be more creative, exacting, compassionate and excellent. It ensures that what we do is not driven by how much money we can make, but how much we can make without compromise or while doing the most good.

Absolutely. I want my neighborhood to thrive. Whenever possible, I patronize local small businesses. I hope that has a positive effect, however small.

What do you think?
