Shopkick is a mobile app that rewards its users for entering stores, and their impressive list of partners include big names like Best Buy and Macy's. Co-founder and CEO Cyriac Roeding tells Business Insider CEO Henry Blodget how his startup has attracted and managed these partnerships. "Show them a value proposition that is very hard to decline," says Roeding. Many young companies also make the mistake of signing deals and immediately shifting focus onto the next deal. "Don't just focus on the business, focus also on the people," advises Roeding. With an inevitable friction bound to occur between partners, a good relationship is key to overcoming any problems that may come up.
