"The emotional tie that entrepreneurs have to an idea is one of the greatest drivers of entrepreneurship," says John Borthwick, CEO and co-founder of Betaworks. What's important, however, is iterating that idea quickly, getting the product to the market, and adjusting to user's reactions, he told the Business Insider's Dan Frommer. Borthwick also stressed the relevance of social media and the use of exisiting web platforms, and noted that entrepreneurs should focus on getting great engineers before building their business.
