How do you turn your hobby into a business? Lockhart Steele did just that when he turned his "personal fascination" into Curbed... all while still working at Gawker. Steele tells Dan Frommer of Business Insider that he built Curbed at his own pace and kept a very open mind in expanding his business. In the end, Curbed has lured advertisers by "obsessively" focusing on their content and thereby establishing a strong, base audience.
