Designer Catherine Meyer came to New York City in 2002 to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and then designed for a boutique clothing line. With a desire to create the “perfect handbag,” she eventually founded her own company, FOLLIS, to produce handcrafted high-quality, high-style, yet affordable, leather bags.

Over the past couple of years, Catherine has been building her company through word of mouth, press – and award recognition. She recently won Best Handbag in Overall Style & Design at the Independent Handbag Designer Awards, presented by InStyle and Handbag Designer 101. This award has given her the opportunity to sell her collection at Saks Fifth Avenue – and helped her business Start Booming.
