Good article Suzanne. How to you select keywords for a local city or state? I do not need to show up everywhere as I only work locally.

I clicked through to your article and found it very difficult to read as there were many typographical or grammatical errors. The information presented seemed ok, but it was too hard to discern meaning in a few places because of the poor editing. One of the keys to good SEO is to have an editor proof your article prior to posting.

I agree keyword research is very important to optimize your SEO strategy. Another suggestion is to analyze the URLs of the top ranking pages in Google of each of your competitors. For example, for competitor ABC, you might find URLs such as www.abc.com/invest-in-florida-real-estate.html and www.abc.com/best-buys-in-florida-beachfront-property.html. This uncovers for you the types of keywords they are using to get good rankings in Google.
