American Express Customer Service has gone down hill

I used to be quite a fan of American Express customer service. Most representatives are polite and helpful. The problem lies within the upper management clearly. I have trouble getting responses. There is no way to get resolution with a phone call. I was hoping this site could make that easier.

    I would need to disagree with you Ishak. I still think that Amex is offering best customer service in the cc industry. Not sure what your problem but my experience with amex in last 15 years has been great.

    I am a former Advanta cc holder and have only recently started using AMEX. I have found the customer service reps to be very polite and easy to talk to. So far im happy with my AMEX card and will use it as long as they provide great service.

    My average monthly charges are $40k - $60k monthly and have never had a problem, that is why I have shifted most of my charging to Amex. The only problems I have with my Amex (which isn't Amex's fault) is that venders try to nail me for 2% above invoice to cover their transaction costs which can really add up so I can't put all spending with my Amex. More merchant oversite in this matter would benifit all.
