Managed IT Services Marketing

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen,

My name is Frank, I run a small business named Transitions IT Inc that offers IT Consulting and 24/7 Managed IT Solutions. Transitions IT is a managed service provider which was designed to offer 24/7 support without the costs of having an IT department at your business.

Moving past the intro, I am looking on best practices for advertising my business. Word of mouth is my main source of clients, but I need to move past that. Have any of you been down this same path? I'm assuming so, but its hard to connect and bounce ideas off one another. Hoping to hear back from you all. Thank you!

    Hey Frank .. Mike here. I actually ran through that with another client that does exactly the same thing. Our process was ..

    1. define his target markets (which are most profitable and likely to spend the money on managed IT (medical, dental, legal, non-profits, etc)
    2. based on this definition we defined a niche area - I know that you can manage many of your services remotely so that you can service the world but you can't market the world - define an area close to home that you can DOMINATE. Word will spread and so will your service area.
    3. Create campaigns for your most profitable markets that will attract the decision makers to your website, facebook page, etc. There are tons of ways to do this .. Giveaways, custom e-books, etc. I like the ebooks because you can really focus the marketing on the industry - dental offices use different software that legal offices, etc.

    Pronto marketing and Kutenda both specialize in marketing IT Managed services. They both offer flat rate monthly pricing. If you don't subscribe to SMB nation, you should consider that as well as it offers a wealth of information on managed IT services vendors and products.
