Using Video to Market Your Brand

Video is a great way to market your brand, however we find many small businesses and even some larger businesses are intimidated by the process of producing an effective video. More often than not, clients will ask us "How much for a 2-3 minute video" without really understanding what goes into producing the end product. This is when we ask the client to step back and really evaluate what they need the video to achieve. From there, we can build a plan of action that will help the client achieve a healthy ROI.

As part of our winter marketing campaign, Creative Liquid Productions is holding an Open House February 11 at our studio in Alexandria, Virginia. The open house is geared towards advertising and marketing professionals, small business owners, corporate clients, government clients and non-profit organizations. This is an informational event. We will have equipment demos, tours of our facility and members of our team on hand to answer questions about the video production process. If you are in the Washington, DC metro region on February 11th you are welcome to come.

If you would like to learn more about producing a video for your organization, but are unable to attend, feel free to contact us through our website: http://www.creativeliquid.com">www.creativeliquid.com

We strongly believe in helping clients understand the process before asking them to make an investment in video.

When clients ask how much video costs, I often try to put it in terms they'll easily understand:

It's rather like stepping onto a car lot and asking how much a car is.

The kinds of bells and whistles you want incorporated dictate how much time it will take to develop the visuals.

Most people can also relate to pointing out the differences between a "B" quality movie and one with a stunning list of accomplished award winners.

Raw video footage can be re-purposed to fit multiple contemporary marketing venues and goals, not the least of which is YouTube and SEO. It is possible to find experienced talent to produce affordable video, if you look around.

Very well said Melanie. What we often do with clients is ask they would like to achieve and if they have a pre-determined budget. If they are unfamiliar with video we often will provide them with a few options and different price points. This allows them to see the differences and options available at different price points.

Also, most production companies have made it over the high definition hurdle and have seamlessly integrated new technologies into their workflow. This makes HD video more affordable.

One good thing to remember, your video represents your brand. If you don't like it, what do you think your clients or customers are going to think?

We just started experimenting with video and podcast versions of our e-newsletter (http://www.dailydollarnewsletter.com ). We have a limited budget but we have a good idea of what we want produced. We placed an ad on Craig's List with a good description of our needs and within a few days we had a bunch of highly professional and experienced video producers submitting auditions. We had a great selection to choose from. We were clear about our budget in the posting to filter out and save anyone the time that wouldn't do it within our budget. There are so many talented people either out of work or choosing to free lance these days. Our first video will be up within a week.

It is not necessary to spend a huge amount of money to produce high quality videos for brand building.

Moreover professionally produced videos are not effective as crowd sourced videos are.

It is more efficient to buy flip cams and let the employee’s record videos of the daily doings. Those videos are more credible, show a human side of a company and build the business brand on a more personal and remarkable way.
