When your customers talk to each other, there's a good chance your product is a main talking point. Meetup co-founder & CEO Scott Heiferman says that businesses have an obligation to create a scenario for their customers to meet up with each other. "Businesses have a huge opportunity to connect their customers... to each other locally and in real life," Heiferman tells Business Insider CEO Henry Blodget. While it's easy to use social media to connect your customers, it's equally important to get them to interact face-to-face. "You need to not just have people glued to the screen but use the Internet to get people off the Internet," says Heiferman, "and that strengthens businesses in ways we haven't even seen yet."
