This depends. I purchased and maintain a subscription to boingo which is the provider at the local airport once when my flight was badly delayed. It allowed me to be productive while awaiting my flight's boarding. I would not purchase in-flight internet. I like to relax and watch movies or my PSP during flight or do other computer work. It's usually pricey for what they provide, anyhow.
Inflight, absolutely. Compared to the cost of the plane ticket, the $10 is a no-brainer if it gives me another 5-10 hours of productive connectivity.
At the airport, probably not. With all the 3-G always-on devices I carry, I simply don't need the superfluous access...although for the few times that I might, I maintain a standing T-Mobile WiFi plan.
