Skip it indeed. Groupon is not a savior for small business. It works for customers who get a "deal." Groupon is using your brand to grow theirs. You ever get flowers delivered to you from a friend? Who do you remember? The friend or the florist? With Groupon, you are the florist and Groupon is the friend.
