"Don't lay off - lay on." This episode of Small Business RulesTM takes a look at Greenleaf Book Group, a publishing company for the not-so-little guy. Founder Clint Greenleaf competes with "big bucks" publishers by choosing quality over quantity. Clint's Company charts a middle road between print on demand and traditional publishing. His editor's are extremely selective, choosing less than 3 percent of manuscripts received. Greenleaf pays a much higher percent of revenue to authors than the big guys, and in turn asks them to invest more in their own work by picking up production costs.
