Many small business owners have been sharing their insights with us, especially on OPEN Forum. One that we’ve heard again and again over the past year is how getting paid is critical to cash flow. So we recently introduced AcceptPay, an online invoicing and payment solution powered by PaySimple, that can help you cut time spent invoicing and collecting and get paid faster.

AcceptPay offers you the ability to create, send, and even automate electronic invoices. It also enables you to accept various forms of payments – such as major credit cards, bank transfers, e-checks, and even cash – that can help make it easier for your customers to pay you. And because it’s online, you can review accounts in real-time, giving you a clearer view of available cash.

We’re excited by the response we’ve had thus far to AcceptPay, and we’re working to incorporate customer feedback into future enhancements. We designed AcceptPay with features that we heard would be most helpful and then asked business owners to test it and provide recommendations. While we think the current solution is both robust and easy-to-use, we’d like to know how it could be even better. We’ve even launched a fee-free version to encourage more business owners to use it. AcceptPay Lite allows you to send up to 10 electronic invoices per month, and if you like it, you can upgrade to accept payments and use other features. Try it and tell us what you think.

If you’re already an AcceptPay customer, we welcome your feedback, too. Does it make invoicing easier and more efficient? Does it offer the features you’re looking for? Let us know how we can make AcceptPay the solution that can help you get paid faster.

PaySimple, a registered ISO/MSP in association with First National Bank of Omaha, Omaha, NE is offering all non-American Express payment services. American Express is not providing or acting as an Agent for the solicitation of any product for or on behalf of First National Bank of Omaha.

What do you think?

Thank you for reaching out. Your AcceptPay Lite account should be available to you as long as you like -and can process up to 10 invoices a month for free. Getting locked out may have been due to a reason such as entering in an incorrect user name and/or password. Have you tried Customer Service at 1-800-466-0995?

If you still need help, please e-mail me at moderator@openforum.com.

I've used Accept Pay Lite (free version) for about nine months and just recently got locked out of the account without warning.

While Accept Pay Lite met my needs, I was not really interested in the full version and would have gladly paid for continued use of the Lite version. Unfortunately I was not given that option and rather my account was locked with no other option I was forced to upgrade to the full version.

I personally find this approach to up selling distasteful. It does not represent what I have come to expect of American Express. You can do better.

We have applied for it after doing business over 6 years hoping to switch to the better solutions.

After submitted requested documents, we only get denied simply because we may provide SEO services?????

It is not very fair that we cannot get an account simply because we may provide web marketing?

They even made us sign a document that promises that we will not charge credit cards for SEO related services.

    Then, we get denied????

AMEX should do better job on making things fair to applicant.

Perhaps I'm just missing it but does this payment method also have a physical card reader which could be used if client is present with a credit card - much like a credit card terminal?

    Hi, Andrew,

AcceptPay currently only accepts credit card payments from individuals or companies with addresses in the United States or Canada. If you have any other questions regarding AcceptPay, please let us know either here or via e-mail to moderator@openforum.com.

I'm interested in whether you can accept credit cards from non-us addresses with accept pay. I wish Google would get into the merchant account business :(

Be warned that Accept Pay does not accept credit cards with billing addresses outside the US. We had a very frustrating experience finding this out after we spent a huge amount of time and expense applying for and setting up Accept Pay and upgrading Quickbooks.

This is a really exciting program. I know billing is one of the things I struggle with the most and this sounds like a great way to streamline my process, reduce the time I spend doing it and increase my return. Thanks for making this happen!
