I would also like to recommend an app which I use often on Business Trips, called Trip Splitter. http://www.mytripsplitter.com/
I like to track my expenses and when I go with colleagues I would rather pay for it all and have everyone pay me back at the end. This is the best app that does all of that, and it is very quick and easy to use.
Thank you so much for this article. I would like to suggest one more app-- It is the reason I bought my iPhone I continue to use this app more frequently than any other.
It's called the Brain Organizer. http://brainorganizer.com/
It consistently helps me take the ideas in my head and distill them into written form in a way that's easy to go back to, share with others, and archive for future retrieval.
I'm an inventor, and a lot of the projects that I work on require weeks and months of concentrated effort. I need the ability to get back into my notes and pick up where I left off because I can't remember every single detail all the time.
Before the Brain Organizer, I would have to sort through linear text notebooks and find files scattered about my computer to get information. The Brain Organizer gives me a flexible--yet structured file cabinet to put down my thoughts.
An idea might strike when I am walking into a meeting or laying in my bed... I just pull out the iPhone and add it to the appropriate place in the Brain Organizer. And it's logged there forever. I can jump right back into that mindpsace instead of trying to remember what it was I was so excited about.
That's just the surface. The organizer is programmed with lists of triggers that jump start my memory when I get "stuck." It's like having a business consultant asking me questions and triggering my own problem solving abilities.
On behalf of my client, Clint Van Zandt, I'd like to suggest an app that he is offering on http://www.livesecure.org. It is the Silent Bodyguard for iphones that sends an SOS distress signal with GPS coordinates to anyone the user designates. The former FBI chief hostage negotiator says this will save lives. Employers should recommend it especially for their agents who are travelling or working at night.
Great article - love the sound of Jott, however I can't find it on the appstore - or anything like it - any ideas?!

Of course we would highly recommend our productivity app for small teams, too:
